R740XD vs Xeon 8167M non supported processor - compatibility
I have an R740XD server with Xeon Silver 4110 CPU. I'm looking to upgrade the CPU to Xeon Platinum 8167M.
It's not listed as a 'supported' CPU in the Technical Guide, however it does list the 'Intel Xeon Scalable Processor Family'
Does anyone have any experience of using non-supported CPUs? or is it generally accepted that CPUs in this range are compatible?

As you correctly mentioned Xeon Platinum 8167M is not a supported processor for PowerEdge R740XD. Not supported does not mean it will not work. As it is not supported it is not validated, hence we can not guarantee that it will work. You can wait for another Community member who tried this combination to share their experience.
