R530 second processor install

Hello folks, i'm have a R530 server with one E5-2620v4, my question is, to add a second processor do i need a match Ram capacity of the first processor? or can i put less on second?

For the processor, the twin will be the same E5-2620v4, but i need a additional VRM card or something? or is just the processor and heatsink?

Appreciate your attention

Hi,

It is just the processor and heatsink. The memory can be different on each processor.

Hello,

The documentation doesn't indicate that the fifth cooling fan is to provide support for an additional processor. While I would certainly encourage you to install the fan, the documentation isn't showing me anything to say that it is mandatory for the configuration. The impression I've gotten from my reading is that all 5 fans should be installed, despite processor configuration.

R530 FAN 1 is always blank and not required. FAN 2 to FAN 5 are required for all config. FAN 6 is for CPU2. So if you are installing 2nd CPU you need to install FAN 2 to FAN 6. Refer below link for details.
