R330 flashing amber light on the "i" button.

Hi,

We got R330 that is showing flashing amber light on the "i" button. When we pressed it once just like what is said on the manual, it did changed to flashing blue light. Then I open up iDRAC web UI and turned off System LED ID.

After that, "i" button went back to flashing amber light.

From our logs, it shows that there is a CMOS battery failing since Feb. Is the failing battery be the reason why "i" button is flashing amber? Could an iDRAC reset (warm boot) or Power Cycle (cold boot) resolve the issue?

Thank you!

you will need to replace the cmos battery to correct the error. Be sure to gracefully power down the system, and I would suggest you disconnect power from the system when you go to replace the battery. you can try idrac reset and cold boot, but I doubt that will resolve the issue.

Yes the reason for that amber flashing is  your failed CMOS Battery.  It will not solved by just rebooting your system. You will need to replace the battery.

Hello, “I” button indicates

Power-on indicator, power button

Power-on indicator icon

Enables you to know the power status of the system. The power-on indicator glows when the system power is on. The power button controls the power supply output to the system.

I would recommend that you have your logs analyzed as well for more precise troubleshooting.

Hey guys, thank you so much for the inputs! Regarding the warm/cold boot, I happen to see one before that actually resolved the CMOS issue after we patch the BIOS which will do a cold boot during the process. Might take a while for us to replace CMOS since the server is in a remote location.
