R310 iDRAC
Hello, can someone help me troubleshoot iDRAC on R310 unable to connect. I can ping the IP but can't get access to GUI or Putty.

Looks like you do not have iDRAC Express card on the server. You need to minimally have iDRAC express card to access iDRAC GUI. Without these it will be BMC and you can only run ipmitool commands to BMC.
Express and Enterprise cards looks like below. You can check whether your server have these module. You can refer section "System Board Connectors" on page 166 of below link to get the location of these cards. Slot 4,5 are for Enterprise and Express card respectively.

Hi @mansorkhan,
The situation might be in a pickle. Can you brief us what happened before the iDRAC is not accessible? During POST, does it have any error messages? What iDRAC version do you have, express or enterprise? Have you tried changing the iDRAC IP?
There is a couple of ways to reset the iDRAC, but if Putty is not accessible that make it more difficult, there the other ways that is listed here: https://dell.to/3n0I89u
Alternative, try removing all power cables, press and hold the power button for 15secs. Then connect the power cables back and try to turn on the server to access iDRAC.

If you have only iDRAC Basic GUI and Putty will not work. You can also refer below post for more details.

PRIMARY BACKPLANE FRMWARE:1.07
Please can direct me how update new BIOS for this server which tried with in OS and failed need non OS BIOS update. R310_BIOS_2K9N4_WN64_1.14.0_01

Thank you for your reply. Here is the details you ask for and beleive my system might have basic iDRAC, because it has only shared NIC1 & 2 no dedicated NIC for iDRAC. If so what is the use of basic iDRAC. I did reset iDRAC few times using your tips.

I bought from eBay this item K869T iDRAC6 Enterprise card and installed, still I can't have access to GUI. Please help me trouble shoot.

Hello @mansorkhan,
May I know if you have installed the iDRAC Express card too? You will need both hardware in order for iDRAC to work.

Before installing Enterprise card you need to have iDRAC Express card. iDRAC Express card will enabled iDRAC on the server and iDRAC Enterprise card will enable more features on top of iDRAC Express.
