Product End of Life PowerEdge C4130

Team,

Can you send me the Dell Policy where it states that Dell always supports the Dell Server Line for seven years after the product goes End of Life?  I have always heard that Dell would guarantee a product would be supported for five years after it goes End of Life, but in most instances it could go “up to seven years”, but this was not a guarantee.  So, I am hoping to see this seven year policy in black and white, so that I change my commentary around how long Dell will support Servers.  Can you assist?

Hi,

There isn't one documented for EOL server list and also the term duration for server support. I've not heard that Dell would guarantee product support for 5 years after it's end of life. From what I understand, it's 5 to 7 years of support before it's end of life. This is not written either. I found service contracts for various products, this can be found here: https://dell.to/42TCwDL

My best suggestion is to contact the sales, to request for sales engineer to confirm and address you concern with the documents you need.

Hello,

because iam a Dell Partner who sells the solutions based on Dell products and others and we do "renewals" on a regulare basis since 2008.

  • If you buy a product you can buy it from start with 7Y ProSupport or better. If the devices goes into EOS Dell gives you suppor within your complete peroid of time
  • If you buy it only with 3 and the devices goes EOS after that than "it depends". Most likely you will get an extend but only for a max of 1 or 2 years. Than you need to ask for a offering again. If Dell doesnt have enough parts on stock they will refuse the renewal. Based on my bookings i would say in >90% you will get the extend.
  • After the 7Y you can get "Post- Standard support" which is Hardware only. We have devices in service under this support for ~10 years(no joke!)
  • We where informed last year that the above is only true for ProSupport or better. Iam not sure if this policy is active right now. If you start with Basic Support you will not able to extend this Basic support when it ends. Regardles if this unit not EOS or EOL

Regards,
Joerg
