iDRAC9 7.30.10.50 Storage UI does not show PERC H730P, but RACADM/Inventory does
PowerEdge R7515
BIOS: 2.24.1
iDRAC9 / Lifecycle Controller: 7.30.10.50
PERC: H730P Mini, firmware 25.5.9.0001
Host OS: ESXi
5 Intel NVME passed through to vm.
The iDRAC9 web UI Storage view does not show the PERC controller or virtual disk. It previously worked.
What does work:
- System -> Inventory shows Integrated RAID Controller 1 / PERC H730P Mini
- racadm storage get controllers returns RAID.Integrated.1-1
- racadm storage get vdisks --refkey RAID.Integrated.1-1 returns Disk.Virtual.1
- racadm storage get pdisks --refkey RAID.Integrated.1-1 returns Bay 0, Bay 1, and Bay 6
- ESXi sees the PERC RAID1 logical disk and the standalone physical disk
- VD status is Online, RAID1, BadBlocksFound = NO, RemainingRedundancy = 1
Things tried:
- iDRAC reset via racadm racreset
- Incognito/browser cache cleared
- CSIOR is enabled
- Cold AC power cycle
- Disabled unused S150/embedded RAID
- Confirmed system.storage.LimitExternalHBATopology = Enabled
- Verified storage health through RACADM and ESXi
Only the iDRAC9 Storage web UI appears broken. RACADM and System Inventory both see the controller, virtual disk, and physical disks correctly.
Has anyone seen this on iDRAC9? or found a workaround that restores the Storage web UI?

Hi,
Could you try this, downgrade the iDRAC to the last know version that you knew it worked, probably 7.20.30.50. Check if H730P appears in the iDRAC GUI? If yes, then rerun the command racadm set system.storage.LimitExternalHBATopology Enabled. Then proceed to upgrade to 7.30.10.50.

It's actually a long time since I recall it working.
I asked chatgpt previously about this issue and it suggested I set the LimitExteranlHBATopology and do a poweroff restart and idrac soft reset. Neither of which worked.
I can try to revert the firmware version and re-upgrade if you're confident this will work.
