iDRAC 2.75.100.75 (Build 02)
Apologies for a possible repeat subject.
I just started with a new company and I was starting to learn System Administration at my previous company. I've been asked to setup Alerts on the iDRAC here and it seemed simple enough, until the error RAC0225: Sending the test email failed. I've read through the instructions from Dell, even used search engines for help, but after reading so much information, I'm just getting more lost. I'm hoping for some assistance in layman's terms and maybe screenshots.
We're using Office365 and I have my outgoing email account's login information. I've tried using port 25 and 587 with no luck. Here is what I've entered:
Under Overview > Server > iDRAC Settings > Network:
DNS iDRAC Name: idrac-xxxxxx
Static DNS Domain Name:
Static Preferred DNS Server:
Under Overview > Server > Alerts > SNMP and Email Settings:
SMTP (Email) Server Address Settings
SMTP (Email) Server IP Address or FQDN /DNS Name: "smtp.office365.com"
Enable Authentication: checked
Username:
Password:
SMTP Port Number: 25 and 587
What might be the issue?
Thank you for any help provided.

Hello ITcontractor,
You may look over this thread. o365anddell was able configure Office365:

Still unable to get it working, even after using the link above as reference. I did notice that the server does not have the Service Module installed. Maybe that has something to do with the issue.

Nope, was no help. Wonder what could be wrong. All the settings info is confirmed to be correct.

ITcontractor,
Would you confirm a couple things for me?
First, if you go to the settings and change the DNS names to the IP of the servers does it work?
Second, if you actually cause an issue, such as pulling a drive, does the alert show to be sent out? If so, does it appear only to fail under the use of the test email option?
Let me know.

I determined the Service Module isn't installed. I will get that installed and get back to you.
Thanks
