How to reduce the reboot time by disabling IDRAC 9.0 on Dell750R
Hi,
I'm looking for possible approach to reduce the reboot time on Dell750 we are running NVR (net video recorder) software on Dell750. we have to meet local regulatory requirements which is, when the electricity plug was accidently cut off, after it was plugged back, the electricity came again, the Dell750 need to reboot/recovery within 3min(from the electricity on to windows log-on page).
we did quick observation on the reboot process and found IDRAC start up takes about 1.3min , BIOS 1.5 min, Windows other service 1.5min, saying total 4.3mins, which is exceeding the lobal regulatory requirement 3mins.
hence i'm wondering if there is any approach to disable the idrac9.0 when rebooting would help. if it couldn't be disabled, we are very welcome any advices which could help reduce the reboot time which didn't affect NVR features(such as Video record/transfer/storage).
Thank you.

Lyyeleven,
While we don't support performance issues, and the server is within its expected boot time. That being said I wouldn't suggest starting with disabling the iDrac, as that can cause other issues on the server. What I would suggest you check, to see if you can shave some time off the start time, is if CSIOR (Collect System Inventory on Restart) is enabled. If it is then that is likely where the idrac slow down is. To check you can access the Lifecycle Controller then Hardware Configuration - Hardware Inventory - Collect System Inventory on Restart, and verify if that is set to Disabled or not, its default is enabled. If enabled then go ahead and disable it and see if it speeds it up enough. I would also recommend that you ensure the server is up to date on BIOS, iDrac, Raid controller, etc.
Let me know if this helps.

You can check if "memory check" is enabled under BIOS->Memory and if so you can disable it.
You can try do disable every unwanted boot device or place your boot device on first. You can to disalbe boot options for network cards or raid... but i think these are only working in BIOS and not UEFI Mode.
