End of life Definition

Hi,

I want to know the definition of end-of-life for the PowerEdge servers as I have been notified that Dell 740xd model has entered the EoL period in our region.

My questions are:

  1. What is EoL means for the PowerEdge servers?
  2. If ProSupport is still available during the period of EoL, what level of support will Dell provide?

Thanks,

Hello @rashad1991,

Normally, for a PowerEdge server, a warranty of up to 5 years is provided. On the more robust and common models, the warranty can be extended for +2 years and the scope can be extended up to 7 years in total. There may be priority support and limited support periods.

Unfortunately, there is no announcement until which year the EOL or EOSL of individual models is specified. At the same time, there may be changes based on local laws in different countries locally. I can recommend you to talk to the sales representatives of your location and get more detailed information.

Regards.

Hi @rashad1991,

I'm unsure if your company purchased the server directly from Dell or from a Dell partner. You might want to check your procurement team. Usually, Jordan's sales representative are Dell partner, you can search them here: https://dell.to/3z66l3y

If you have purchased it directly from Dell, perhaps I suggest to call support to check if sales team is contactable: https://dell.to/3z66lAA
