Disks are missing

Hi,

I have a Dell PowerEdge R740XD server, along with SSD drives. I recently bought SAS drives and unfortunately the server does not see them. Does this mean that the drives are faulty or something I have not set up to initialize the drives? I have a PERC H740P controller in the server.

Hello,
1. This isn't a Dell certified part
2.This isn't SAS SSD, NVME U.2 (they look the same). PERC H740P doesn't support NVME.

Supports Dell-qualified serial-attached SCSI (SAS) hard drives, SATA hard drives, and solid-state drives (SSDs).

Hello,

Is the drive a Dell branded drive?

Can you post image of the drive label for me to check if it is validated for the R740xd in the database?

One thing to consider if you are using universal drive carrier that the drive is installed in the correct screw holes SAS or SATA.
