Dell Server R770 and the new RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Server Edition

I am not seeing that any RTX GPUs are listed as supported for the R720. As seen on page 22 here, the R720 can support up to two 300W GPUs, or up to four 150W GPUs. As far as if the board can handle a 600W load, I can't be certain of that as there isn't a card listed for the server over 300W. In regard to the Y cable, since it isn't a supported configuration, I wouldn't be able to help with that, and would be based on trial and error.

Sorry about that, I was sure it was an R720 when I read it. Origin3k is correct though, it is supported on the R770, as seen here. 

Thanks for sharing this. I’m curious about a related setup: how about the PowerEdge R7615? Is it also compatible with the RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Server Edition, and can it run the card at full 600W power like the R7725? Any official confirmation or field experience would be very helpful

Unfortunately, PowerEdge R7615 is unable to support RTX PRO 6000 BSE.

To follow up, could you please advise which Dell server series is officially validated to run the NVIDIA RTX 6000 Blackwell Server Edition at its full TDP (600W)?
Specifically, I am considering a deployment with only a single GPU and single CPU. Would the PowerEdge R7715 or R7725 (or?) be sufficient with the proper enablement kit, or would I need to move up to the XE7745 platform to ensure full power and thermal support?
Any guidance on PSU sizing, airflow kits, or BIOS power‑cap settings for this scenario would be greatly appreciated.

The XE7745 is the only platform I believe that is explicitly validated for full 600W GPU operation, including power delivery and thermal management, whereas while the R7725 may physically accommodate a 600W GPU with custom enablement kits, I don't think it is officially validated for full 600W operation.

Lastly, I do not see that the R7715 even supports its use. 

Can you confirm R7725 does not support RTX 6000 Blackwell at 600W operation? I see it mentioned here: https://www.dell.com/en-us/dt/corporate/newsroom/announcements/detailpage.press-releases~usa~2025~08~dell-ai-data-platform-advancements-help-customers-harness-data-to-power-enterprise-ai.htm#/filter-on/Country:en-us, as the rack recommended for this GPU card.

Hi Young, thanks for the clarification regarding the 450W power capacity.
However, I’m a bit confused after watching the #SIGGRAPH2025 video especially around the 0:50 mark ,where both principals officially stated that the R7725 system was running at full wattage, 600W each. That seems to contradict the current spec sheet or guidance.
I’m trying to reconcile this before finalizing my purchase, as I want to ensure the system can reliably support the full power draw without throttling or risking instability. If there’s any updated documentation or internal validation that confirms 600W support on the R7725, I’d really appreciate it.

Hello, I am also *very* interested in getting an official response from Dell about this point. Two questions:

1. Can confirm whether or not the RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell will be capped at 450W in the R7725?

2. If it is indeed capped at 450W, can you explain what is the expected impact on performance?

I am a user trying to decide what server to buy to host this GPU, and it is important for me to understand this before making a decision.
