Dell R740 idrac license import failure LIC016

Hello!

Recently we replaced our failed motherboard with a new one. On the old system we had license idrac enterpice. After replacing we entered service tag from old system(motherboard). When trying to imporrt a license we got an error - "LIC016: The feature dependencies of the license are not met."

What do we have to do to have an enterprise license?

Let us try to generate another new license file to be sent to your email address. Before this, could you PM either Charles or me, your email address, name and company details. We may need to verify the server ownership details.

Hello fortgroup,

 

Can you verify the Service tag you see in the iDRAC is the same as on the Luggage tag (pull out tag from front of system)?

I checked, the service tag that we entered on the new board matches the tag in the case

if you do not have a copy of the license then you need to get help from OEM, else you can also try for the free trail license

Despite the fact that the network has instructions for transferring the key from the old system and importing to the new motherboard (with cloning service tag) it doesn't work. Dear Joey C helped generate a new key on Digital Dell Locked! Thank him very much!

Hello, I exported iDRAC9 Express license from my R440, and now i cannot import it back, it give me that error, is this normal? I have .xml of my license with correct Service tag exported, but cannot import it back. I'm sure i done that before on R430 (idrac8) without any problem. Sadly I dont have any contracts with dell, R440 i own is bought second hand.

I will try to help yo with this. First we must verify authorization that you are the asset owner.

 

Did you process an Ownership Transfer request on the service tag when you purchased it?

 

See this link for transferring ownership of the service tag if you need to do this:

Dear Martin, I accidentally deleted the iDRAC enterprise license on my R640 thinking that i could transfer over the license from the old faulty unit. And now i hope to obtain back the iDRAC licenses.

I can help you to generate the license and send the license to the owner's email. Can I know if you have already done the ownership transfer?

Hello, if you are dealing with a second hand system, as you may be well aware, ownership transfer must be completed before everything else. We can not move forward unless this is finalized.

It's not secondhand system,

I wanted to let you know that we created a backup of the old license file/exported it before replacing the motherboard. After installing the new motherboard, we used the same license file. Based on this process, it should function without any issues, 

But still getting the same error "LIC016: The feature dependencies of the license are not met.

Import the license(s) that meet the license features dependencies."

What do we need to do to fix this error?
