Dell R640 Mix Memory

Hi Currently my dell server comes with

128GB x 4 = 512GB

I would like to make my server with 2TB memory

can i mix memory configuration

128GB X 8 = 1TB

64Gb x 16 = 1TB

my reason is 128gb memory is highly expensive so I choose 64gb instead.is it possible?

You can mix memory of various size but both need to be from same family. I assume you have 128GB LRDIMM then you need to have LRDIMM of 64GB also. Can you share part number of 128GB and 64GB Memory you are planning to use.

You can also refer below link for details on memory module installation guidelines

My current PN : hmabagl7abr4n

HYNIX HMABAGL7ABR4N-XN 128gb (1x128gb) 3200mhz Pc4-25600 Cl22 Ecc Registered Quad Rank X4 1.2v Ddr4 Sdram 288-pin Load Reduced Lrdimm Memory Module For Server

so i need to purchase 64gb x 16 with 3200 speed right?

to conclude my 2Tb server

128gb x 8

64gb x 16

how to arrange the memory in the server?

i should put 128gb memory slot first?

thanks
