Dell R630 lifecycle manager problem

Hi,

My Dell R630 server, which has been working without problems for many years, has lost its Idrac connection today. It keeps connecting and breaking all the time and I cannot enter the IDRAC panel. (I don't know if it's connected to each other, but also,  the LCD panel is not working)I've tried all the reset methods, but I didn't succeed. Do you have a hardware-based solution? Thanks.

Habil,

The first thing I would look at, before attempting any hardware-based solutions, would be the following:

  1. Verified the server is up to date on BIOS and IDRAC firmware and checked for any other available updates.
  2. Checked the IDRAC configuration for any unusual settings or inconsistencies.
  3. Checked the server's logs for any error messages related to the IDRAC or LCD panel.

By verifying these points, you can ensure that the proposed solutions are targeted at the root cause of the issue and avoid potential complications.

If the issue persistes then we can consider;

  1. Backup and Restore IDRAC Configuration : If you have a backup of your IDRAC configuration, you can try restoring it using the IDRAC's firmware backup and restore feature. This may resolve any configuration issues that might be causing the connection problems.
  2. An iDrac Reset : Your server has a DracReset button, you can try pressing and holding it for 10 seconds while powering on the server. This may restore the IDRAC to its default settings. You can find the DracReset button on the back or top of the server, depending on the model.
  3. Replace IDRAC Module : As a last resort, if none of the above methods work, it's possible that the IDRAC module itself is faulty. In this case, you may need to replace the IDRAC module, but lets check everything before getting to this.

Let me know what you see and if this helps.
