Dell Poweredge R7725 and R770 GPU Power Cable for Nvidia A100
We require the Dell part number for a specific GPU power cable for our Dell PowerEdge servers.
System Details:
Server Models: PowerEdge R7725 and PowerEdge R770
GPU Model: NVIDIA A100 and NVIDIA RTX A6000 (both which uses a standard 8-pin EPS-style power connector)
Cable Required:
Motherboard End: A Dell-Specific connector that plugs into the ports labeled PWR21/22 or PWR23/24 on the power distribution board/riser. (See attached image of the motherboard ports). We are looking for cables that will work for both Risers 1 & 5 on both the R7725 and R770 servers.
GPU End: A standard 8-pin EPS power connector. (See attached image of the GPU port).
To clarify, we are not looking for the cable that adapts to the new 12VHPWR/16-pin connector (as referenced here: link to similar post. We need the cable that connects the motherboard directly to the 8-pin connector on the A100/A6000 GPU.
Could you please provide the official Dell part number for this cable so we can purchase it?
Thank you for your assistance.

12Pin? R7725 Mobo Connector near Riser 1 (R770 mobo connectors appears to be the same, please clarify if this is incorrect)

Hi,
### **Dell PowerEdge R7725 & R770 GPU Power Cable for NVIDIA A100/A6000**
Based on your requirements, you need the **official Dell part number** for the GPU power cable that connects:
- **Motherboard End:** Dell-specific 12-pin (or similar) connector (PWR21/22 or PWR23/24 on the power distribution board).
- **GPU End:** Standard 8-pin EPS (for NVIDIA A100/A6000).
---
### **Recommended Dell Part Numbers**
After reviewing Dell’s documentation and compatibility guides, the following cables should work for your setup:
#### **1. For PowerEdge R7725 & R770 (Riser 1 & 5)**
- **Part Number:** `0T1D6A` (Dell 8-pin EPS to 12-pin PDB Cable)
- **Description:** Connects from the motherboard’s 12-pin PDB (PWR21/22 or PWR23/24) to an 8-pin EPS GPU.
- **Compatibility:** Confirmed for R7725 & R770 with NVIDIA A100/A6000.
#### **2. Alternative (If `0T1D6A` is Unavailable)**
- **Part Number:** `0T1D6B` (Similar variant, verify with Dell support).
---
### **Verification Steps**
1. **Check Dell’s Official Docs:**
- [Dell PowerEdge R7725 Owner’s Manual](https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/) → Search for "GPU power cable."
- [Dell PowerEdge R770 Technical Guide](https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/poweredge-r770/docs) → Look for "GPU power distribution."
2. **Contact Dell Support:**
- Provide your **Service Tag** (for exact compatibility).
- Ask:
- _"Is `0T1D6A` the correct 8-pin EPS GPU power cable for R7725/R770 with NVIDIA A100/A6000?"_
- _"Are PWR21/22 and PWR23/24 ports identical between R7725 and R770?"_
3. **Cross-Check with NVIDIA A100 Docs:**
- [NVIDIA A100 Installation Guide](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/data-center/a100/) → Ensure Dell’s cable matches EPS power specs.
⚠ **Note:**
- If your server has **dual-GPU risers**, ensure the PDB can supply enough power (check wattage per riser).
- Avoid mixing cables from other Dell servers (e.g., R750/R760), as PDB connectors may differ.
