Dell PowerEdge R430 + Two processors + Windows Server 2019 freeze on load + Hyper-V
Hi,
just posting this to help anyone with problems similar to mine, considering I didnt find this solution on web.
I was trying to use a PowerEdge R430 with two processors, Windows Server 2019 and Hyper-V. All firmwares and drivers updated to the latest avaliable.
After installing Windows Server 2019 Std, when adding Hyper-V role, after the reboot, Windows always freeze when loading. It was possible to load Windows again only if I disable Intel Virtualization on BIOS/processor settings. But, obviously, Hyper-V doesn´t work with this config disabled.
The problem was the BIOS/processor setting "x2APIC Mode". On PowerEdge R430, this setting is disabled by default. Setting this config to enabled, resolved the problems.
Hope this helps someone.
