Broadcom NetXtreme network device firmware, 23.2

I am trying to install Broadcom NetXtreme network device firmware 23.2 (https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=J8X0M) for a PowerEdge R650 running Windows 2019.  The installation process has taken more an hour and it is still showing Installing update.  There is no activity I can tell from the task manager.

Should I go ahead and restart?

Thanks.

Hello thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community.

Could we try resetting Idrac first then see what happens?

Hi, after waiting for 90+ minutes, the install was finally completed for the Broadcom NetXtreme network device firmware 23.2.   I am trying to install Marvell/QLogic 2690 series Fibre Channel adapters, 16.30.13_A00-00 on another server and it exhibits the same behavior.  Please advise.

Thanks.

Hello,

That does seem to be a long time to apply a firmware update. Glad to see it completed.

On the next one; You may try draining the flea power before trying the update and see if that helps

drain flea power (shut down, disconnect power cables and Network cables, hold in power button 20 seconds with cords removed).

After flea power drain, system has to set for 3 minutes for DRAC to reset without any power plugged in.

Then plug in NIC and power but wait 2 minutes before power on to give DRAC time to initialize.

Make sure you iDRAC and BIOS are up-to-date also.

Hi,

Unfortunately, the servers are in remote locations so I wont be able to drain the flea power.  The iDRAC and BIOS are up-to-date.  Some servers didn't take long to do the update but some took almost 90 minutes to update either the network firmware or the fiber channel adapters.

Thanks.
