720xd Motherboard Initialization Error - Fix or replace?
The motherboard in my 720xd was working fine until a power down and reboot. Now I get the dreaded iDRAC initialization error. I tried resetting the nvram using the jumper on the motherboard and the i button but nothing works. I don't know of any way to try re-flashing the idrac to resolve it. Is there anything?
Assuming no, I've started shopping for a replacement motherboard. Is the motherboard the same for both the R720xd and R720? Is 020HJ the most current R720xd motherboard?

Hi,
You can try firmware flash guide: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000120131/poweredge-idrac-recovery-procedure-with-firmimg-d7.
Alternately, you can try to reset the iDRAC, but I'm unsure if iDRAC is accessible via RACADM. Hence, this need to be done via OS. Here's various way of iDRAC reset guide: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000126703/how-to-reset-the-internal-dell-remote-access-controller-idrac-on-a-poweredge-server, try following the reset via OS.
If else fail from the 2 ways above mentioned, a mainboard replacement is needed.

No matter what I did, I could not get this to work so I just replaced the board.
