2x Nvidia RTX 6000 Ada GPU's for R760xa 8 Bay SFF Server
Hello,
Would I be able to add 2 x Nvidia RTX 6000 Ada GPU's in our Dell R760xa 8 Bay SFF Server? Is the server GPU ready or would I need to include a GPU Enablement Kit? If a GPU Enablement Kit is needed, do you have the part number available so I can make sure I add the correct kit? Would Dual 1100W PSU be enough power to support 2x GPU's? Last question - would I be able to install 2 x RTX 6000 Blackwell GPU's instead of the Ada GPU's if needed? Thank you in advance for helping me!

Hi,
To be honest, the documented support cards do not have RTX 6000 in it. Based on my research on server's technical specification, it might be able to support Nvidia RTX 6000 ADA, as it is a 300W card, the server can support up to 350W TDP. I looked at the supported cards here: https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/servers/briefs-summaries/poweredge-server-gpu-matrix.pdf, most of the cards are 350W and below, supported by R760xa. RTX 6000 Blackwell is a 600W TDP card, I don't think the server can support. Can you confirm that your server has 1100W, as I checked, R760xa has 2400W and 2800W PSU: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-r760xa/r760xa_ism_pub/psu-specifications?guid=guid-2ebf92fd-db27-464f-b853-d8b7b93e8ec1&lang=en-us
There isn't really a GPU enablement kit, only the riser configuration availability. If the server has the required riser, it should be sufficient: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-r760xa/r760xa_ism_pub/gpu-kit?guid=guid-8b34fee1-24be-4115-80f7-431b8f32aba7&lang=en-us. Based on the GPU height form of RTX 6000 ADA, it is FHFL Gen 5 x16 PCIe slot. https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-r760xa/r760xa_ism_pub/gpu-kit?guid=guid-8b34fee1-24be-4115-80f7-431b8f32aba7&lang=en-us
Based on the supported cards, NVIDIA A16, A30, A40, A100 NVIDIA H100 and L40, most of them are double width. And based on the slot priority allocation table: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-r760xa/r760xa_ism_pub/expansion-card-installation-guidelines?guid=guid-ac875fab-425e-40d6-9f84-e1ad4c8784b1&lang=en-us, the server should be able to support installation of two cards.
These are based on my information research, this is not official statement that the server can support RTX 6000 ADA. Perhaps I recommend try 1 card at a time first.
