We are renaming the E20-001 Associate credential - Introducing the EMCISA
On July 13, 2010, we are renaming the certification credential achieved by passing the E20-001 Information Storage and Management exam. The new name is EMC Information Storage Associate (EMCISA).
EMCISA certification validates your ability to apply broad knowledge of information storage and management technologies to meet evolving business requirements and help solve complex IT infrastructure challenges.
Why are we doing this?
- To create an industry-recognizable term and acronym.
- To create a credential that accurately reflects the ISM training certification.
What should you do if you currently have the Associate credential?
Starting on July 13, go to CertTracker to request an updated eCertificate
- Downloads will be available for 3 months (until October 15, 2010)
- Update your credentials:
- On your business cards. Make sure you follow the program policies & guidelines document
- In your ECN profile (choose Your Stuff --> Profile --> Edit profile)
FAQ
- This is a name change only, the certification credential remains valid, there is no change to the certification exam or curriculum.
- Applies to the E20-001 Information Storage and Management exam (formerly Storage Technology Foundations) only – not applicable to other Associate level exams (ETF remains an EMCPA credential).

How do I request an updated e-certificate? I don't see that option when I log into CertTracker.

Hi JoyT,
Once you access CertTracker, look on the left navigation panel. Under "Certifications" you will find a Request Certificate link. Click that link to access the page where you can order your certificate. If you have multiple certifications, please be sure to select Information Storage Associate.
Note: You do have to select that certification from two drop-down lists (select your program and select your kit).
Please let me know if you are successful!

Hello Mike -
Since this is treated as a "new" certificate being issued you will not receive the download instructions and link to your "new" e-Certificate until the program runs the queue at midnight tonight. You should see it in your inbox before noon tomorrow.
Regards, ddProven

Hello Sho,
The Proven Professional Program update announcement was inadvertently distributed to you earlier today. We request that you please ignore this message as you have passed the E20-040 EMC Technology Foundations exam, achieving your EMC Technology Foundations Associate credential. The message was intended solely for individuals who have passed the E20-001 Information and Storage Management exam and have achieved an Information Storage and Management Associate credential.
Thank you for your understanding and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused you.
