Hi Junior,
The E20-814 exam is the Symmetrix Solutions Expert Exam for Storage Administrators.
If you are following the EMCSA (Storage Administrator track), you are currently at the Associate level, having passed the E20-001 Information Storage and Management Exam. The next step in the Proven Professional Program is the specialist level, so yes, you would have to complete the E20-517 Symmetrix Solutions Specialist Exam for Storage Administrators before you could move on to the Expert level.

Kate,
Thanks very much for your reply. My company purchased "Symmterix Configuration Management" DVD from EMC for me. So would that be sufficient to take the E20-517 ? In otherwords which Exam can I register by learning the DVD materials in "Symmterix Configuration Management" .
Thanks for you prompt reply.
Best,
Ram

Hi Ram!
If you check out the exam description for E20-517, it recommends the VILT "Symmetrix Configuration Management" as training for this exam. There are other recommended trainings to prepare for this exam, so you might want to look at some of the eLearning suggested in the exam description.
You can also access the practice exam for E20-517 from our Practice Exam list.
Best of luck!

Ram,
The Symmetrix configuration management VILT is not sufficient for the E20-517 exam. At best it constitutes about 35% of the exam. Like Kate mentioned pay very close attention to the exam description details pdf. The solutions enabler version being tested keeps changing on a fairly reguar basis so keep a watch on that. A substantial portion of the exam will be on Timefinder, SRDF, Thin provisioning, Tiering, SMC, Solutions enabler installation, Performance Analyzer.
Good Luck
