Meet EMC Proven Professional and Active Community Member: Rob Koper

About Rob Koper

Rob developed an interest in data security and RAID technology while studying electronics at the Technical University Eindhoven and the Higher Technical School in Heerlen (HTS). After working for smaller PC shops and semi-professional PC stores, Rob heard about Open Line Consultancy through several former colleagues in 2004.

One of Rob’s first tasks with Open Line was to become a certified EMC Proven Professional and be part of developing a strong partner relationship with EMC. In his first 5 months with Open Line, Rob earned the Implementation Engineer, CLARiiON Solutions Specialist certification. A year later, Rob achieved Implementation Engineer, CLARiiON Solutions Expert certification and then moved on to earn Technology Architect, CLARiiON Solutions Specialist, Technology Architect, Symmetrix Business Continuity Specialist and Implementation Engineer, Symmetrix Business Continuity Specialist certifications.

Rob is now a Senior Storage Consultant at Open Line and is using EMC products to manage storage at Open Line’s 3 data centers. Rob is currently coming up to speed on VNX and expects to earn VNX Solutions Specialist certification within the IE and TA tracks during the next month. He is also looking forward to the Avamar training he is scheduled to receive in November at the EMC Brentford office. Rob plans to achieve the Backup and Recovery – Avamar Specialist certifications within the IE and TA tracks early next year.

Rob joined EMC’s community network (ECN) about 4 years ago and has found the communities to be a place where people can learn from the expertise of others. He is definitely learning new things on a regular basis by being an active participate in the communities. In fact, because Rob participated in so many of the social media activities leading up to Worldwide Proven Professional Day during EMC World 2011, he was one of the remote participant prize winners.  Rob has also developed friendships with several other frequent contributors (Mr. Dynamox) and actually met Stefano del Corno in Milan a few years back. He’s hoping to meet many more of you at some future EMC World event! In the meantime, check out the blog Rob started this summer, http://www.50mu.net, and let him know what you think.

And a few personal photos of Rob.

Well deserved recognition for a long time contributor and VERY active member of ECN as well as the Support Forums before that! Maybe we'll see you in Vegas this year?
