Well, other than being nervous for no apparent reason while standing in an insanely long lineup to register, the exam went smooth and I now have my first official EMC certification. I should have got around to this a long time ago, but there is never enough time.

I'm loving it here at EMC World 2009... now that I learned from last year's experience that it's OK to take it easy and limit yourself so you don't explode from info overload.

Congratulations Allan.

I believe we have worked together in the past, when you were in the process of setting up your SRDF/A.

Since we worked over the phone for 5 days, it would be nice to put a face to the name. I will message my email address and phone # directly to you, if you could ping me when you have a few minutes tomorrow, that would be great.

Thank you Michelle,

I did attend and it was quite an event. Although it seems like a lot of the Proven Professionals at EMC World this year didn't attend the awards.... just judging by the number of times they had to draw names for the draw prizes at the end. When they were done I think they had drawn more names than they had left in the drum :-)

And as for the competition, I've actually had my eye on it for a while and I'm planning on giving it a shot next year if I can actually get some time to work on it. That's one of the joys of being a customer. Companies don't always see as much value in having their employees share knowledge outside the company than the employees themselves do. Personally, I know that if I'm going to expect to get valuable content from others I need to at least put an effort into contributing myself.

Hi Mohammad, I'm sorry you had a visa problem; it must be difficult to want to attend and not be able to.  But, there is always next year.

Our Knowledge Sharing competition is getting stronger each and every year, so please don't give up on submitting an abstract (or two or three!).  I'd suggest you read all of the articles we publish to see what they're like; what topics they cover; what they offer to the IT community.

The six winning articles are available now and we post other accepted articles every month (usually three a month).  You'll need a Powerlink account to access the articles; reading them is not only a great way to learn what your colleagues are doing, it's a great way to learn what topics are selected for publication. So I'll be looking for your submission!

I went to take the certification exam in Content Management System Administration.   The line to register was very long.  It took me almost an hour to get through it.  I can understand it though.  Maybe if you advertise better that you can pre-register for exams at EMC World, it will help things go smooth at the conference.   It saves you $100!  This is a great idea for EMC World.  I hope EMC keeps it going.

By the way, I passed my exam.   Thanks EMC.

Hi Dennis, sorry about the long wait.  I wasn't at EMC World, but I did hear that the exams were very popular.  Congratulations on achieving your certification!!!
