How to begin the journey to certify as Cloud Architect

Hi experts,

I am having ten years of experience in IT infrastruture and would like to pursue the cloud architect certification. I am working as an infrastructure architect with key skills in storage and database. But i dont have any hands on any EMC products. I have already decided to appear for E20-001. Could you please help me with the following queries.

1) Is it mandatory to have EMC product hands on to certify as Cloud Architect?

2) Is there any need to attend any course?

3) What are the different certifications i need to get to become EMC certified Cloud Architect?

Regards,

Abhilash

Hello Abhilash –

There is a great post in our community written by EMC’s Senior Director of Education, Alok Shrivastava.  This post provides detailed information regarding the Cloud certification track and the basic skills that are needed to become Cloud certified.

To answer your specific questions; you do not need to have EMC product specific knowledge.  The suggested curriculum for the Cloud exam can be found here.  The exam description can be viewed by clicking on the E20-018 Exam link in the top right corner.

Taking the ISM E20-001 exam is a great way to begin your journey as well as being a requirement for achieving Cloud certification.

Best of luck!

Kind regards,

Debi
