Financial Crisis, IT Skills and Certifications
Foote Partners released their latest research on highest paid IT skills and certifications.
In a summary published by CIO magazine, latest data reflects for the first time, the impact of financial crisis and economic recession on IT Skills and what companies pay for them.
EMC Proven TA-Expert, rated among the highest paid IT Certification increased 10% in value whereas EMC-TA Specialist increased 28.6% in value. Three storage related certifications made to the top 10 list - Brocade, EMC, and SNIA.
Its also worth highlighting that Foote in their previous research had identified Top 3 'Networking' certifications : CCIE, EMCTA-Expert and Brocade Certfied SAN Manager.
Specific non-certified IT skills that increased in value in Q4-2008 includes ITIL...

With all of the difficult financial news out there, it's good to finally see the true impact of the EMC Proven Professional certfication. This will give many folks an opportunity to expand their careers....why not!

thanks for the update on IT skills and pay rate and the links to the articles. It will be interesting to hear first hand how the Proven Professional audiences corroborate this research. For those who have TA (or other certifications) and have seen the benefits in the marketplace we would be interested in your experience.
