EMC Certification Query( E20-011 & E20-012)

Here is a link to our training and exam page. When you click on Specialty beside the exams you are interested in, you'll see the courses available.  Also, please note that you will also find exam descriptions (very handy when studying!) and practice exams at the same link.

Hi Dhrumil,

Glad to know that you have joined the EMC Proven Community. I manage the EMC Learning Partner relationships for India. Currently we have alliances with NIIT & IIHT. The certifications you are looking at are mapped to our programs as mentioned below:

1. Storage Networking Design & Management.

2. Information Availability Design & Management.

Both these programs are available at select NIIT centres across India. Once you enrol for these programs, you will get course material and a participation certificate through NIIT. After completing the training you can appear for the EMC Proven Specialist level of Certifications through the Pearson VUE testing facilities.

To help you further, I need to know your base location so that I can direct you to the nearest NIIT centre.

Hi again,

We don't have books that you can learn from for Specialist level certifications. These are intensive courses that often include a hands-on component or a virtual lab environment.

You should be able to find learning options here.

Also, Guarav can help you to find a class available to you locally.

Michelle has sent the correct link to you. Also again re-iterating the fact that virtual classes are not available with our Learning Partners. You will have to register with NIIT to avail the training.

Thanks for your fast reply. The thing is, i acutally went throught the links you are directing me to. There it shows the curriculum and the topics to be studied. But it doesnt say anything about the books to refer(for eg : ISM book to refer for associate level) and other prerequisites.

Hi Guarav,

Currently I am based in Mumbai but I am going to be shifitng to mysore as i am placed in infosys and going to undergo training there.

But is it possible to study without getting enrolled with NIIT as i am going to be away from mysore city and also going to be moving between places quite often.

So can't i just register for the exam online and study on my own as i did for the associate level. I had not taken any courses for the Associate level.

Hi Dhrumil,

Like the ISM book, the content for the specialist track is not available. For learning these programs, you will have to enroll at the NIIT centres either at Mumbai or at Bangalore. In fact, these programs may not be available at NIIT Mysore centre.

One more thing. Will you be working on EMC Storage solutions at Infosys? If that is the case, you will have to ask your manager to enroll you for the trainings on the above programs through the EMC Customer & partner education team. In that case, the company will have to make the payments as we do not entertain individual requests through that team.

No it is not mandatory to enroll for any programs to appear for the exams. You can straight away walk into the Pearson VUE testing centre, pay the certification fees and schedule your exams at the available slots.

Okay now i get it. The only way for me to appear for these exams is to first enroll with NIIT.

But the final Query. Is it mandatory to enroll with NIIT. I mean, only after enrolling with NIIT can i appear for the exam. I am not talking about the preparation. Just procedure wise.
