The EMC Proven Professional certification program is designed as a role based program because we view certification as representation of readiness to perform a role. A role based program takes into account a number of factors that are unique to a specific role. Within each role, it is possible to build upon previously earned certifications by moving through our Associate, Specialist and Expert certifications.
Both exams contain Network Attached Storage (NAS) content, however they are designed for people performing different roles. The E20-361 is intended for Implementers while the E20-538 is intended for Storage Administrators.
You can take the E20-860 exam but you would not earn an expert credential until all the requirements are met.
