E20-001 Practice Question

I am studying for the E20-001 exam and was going through some practice questions on EMC website and got stumped by question 15 which asked about problems with NAS and one of the answers says that it is only provides file level access which is what I chose because on page 151 of the ISM the first line under the heading 7.3 NAS File I/O it says "NAS uses file-level access for all of its I/O operations." which I got wrong and am not sure why. Thank you in advance for any help.

We'll have the team that created this question review it and we'll get back to you shortly.

Hi,

The question asks around the challenges of NAS. 'Only' file level access is not really a challenge (or a problem), because that is one of the primary design objectives. NAS is designed to be file-centric, and so this is not a problem.

If it is confusing, and I know many people have to translate from a second language (and the test is more difficult for these people, in my opinion), then think of it like this. The fact that cars do not fly is not a challenge, because they were never designed to fly.

Best regards.

Hello and welcome!

You can launch the E20-001, Information Storage and Management practice test, from this link.

Please remember that a practice test is just one indicator of your readiness for an EMC Proven Professional exam.  We recommend that you take the test once, review your results, study as necessary and only then take the test a second time.

Please let us know how you do!
