No. The CIS v2 course will completely replace the CIS course.
4. How is CIS v2 differ from CIS?
CIS v2 training and certification is designed to provide the required technology foundation for technical professionals across all domains–server, storage, networking, applications–and enable them to make informed decisions on building a cloud infrastructure. 5. Is there a new exam aligned to the CIS v2 course?
Yes, E10-002 is the new exam that aligns with CIS v2. This exam is available starting October 17, 2014. During the period October 17, 2014 – June 30, 2015, both E20-002 and the new E10-002 exams will be available in parallel. E20-002 is scheduled to retire on June 30, 2015..
6. I’ve already begun preparing for EMCCIS certification using CIS course material. What should I do?
If you have already begun preparing for the E20-002 Cloud Infrastructure and Services Exam using CIS training materials, we recommend that you take the E20-002 exam on or before June 30, 2015.
7. Is the new E10-002 CIS v2 exam available?
The E20-002 Cloud Infrastructure and Services Version 2 Exam is available at Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide starting October 17, 2014. Visit http://education.emc.com/CIS (EMC employees click here) to download the exam description and take the practice test.
8. I am already a certified EMCCIS; will my credential (based on CIS) expire?
No. If you are already a certified EMC Proven Professional Cloud Infrastructure and Services Associate (EMCCIS), your existing Associate-level certification does not expire and continues to qualify as a prerequisite for achieving Cloud Architect (EMCCA) Specialist-level certification.
9. What credential will be achieved by passing E10-002?
Candidates who pass the E10-002 Cloud Infrastructure and Services Version 2 Exam will achieve the Cloud Infrastructure and Services (EMCCIS) Version 2 credential, a qualifying prerequisite for achieving Cloud Architect (EMCCA) Specialist-level certification.
10. I am unfamiliar with the EMC Proven Professional Program, but want to learn more about cloud. What course should I take?
We recommend that you prepare for the E10-002 Cloud Infrastructure and Services Version 2 Exam using the updated CIS v2 training material.
