Hi Nikhil. When will you be graduating? The reason I ask is because you asked a really similar question a couple of months ago...so I'm trying to figure out what you're trying to ask us.
One thing I always try to keep in mind about education and certification is that this is like the foundation for your career. You have to figure out where you want to go in your career, and build on that foundation to get you there.
When I was taking my undergraduate degree, I made sure to get an internship that gave me technical experience. I worked for the career center at my college. I administered the student labs (there were 3) that we had set up for students to write resumes and take training on sitting for internships and that sort of thing. I also built an access database for all the employers who came to our career fair, and built forms for our website so students could search that database. Building the forms is how I learned to naviate a UNIX OS.
When I interviewed at EMC, that technical experience is what really helped. Of course, EMC didn't have the sorts of Academic programs we have now -- so you are so lucky you have that in your toolkit!
What I've found personally is with my educational background and now with the EMC Proven Professional Certs that I have earned, is that its really important to have a target to aim for in my career. I figure out where I want to be first, then I figure out what is required for that type of position. Then I work on getting the things I am missing.
I guess I'd ask you - what are you really asking us here?
