Avamar Proven Professional

I just received an e-mail regarding the new Avamar Specialist Certification. I have already taken and passed the E22-280 exam last November. A link in the e-mail stated the following:

"as an already Avamar certified EMC Proven Professional, you will be granted an EMCIE Backup and Recovery – Avamar Specialist credential after July 16, 2010 - provided that you hold a valid EMC Proven Professional Associate level (EMCPA) credential.

If you do not have a valid EMC Proven Professional Associate level certification, we recommend that you look into Information Storage and Management (ISM) training and certification exam (E20-001). Click here to findout more about the ISM certification."

My question is... Is it necessary to have the E20-001 exam specifically? I am currently a BuRA TA, but, the E20-001 test was not a requirement to obtain my certification. I am wondering if I need to pass the E20-001 test before July 16, 2010 to be granted an EMCIE Backup and Recovery – Avamar Specialist credential.

Thank you.

Hello Jimmie,

.

The valid EMC Proven Professional Associate level (EMCPA) credentials for this  include any credential earned by passing the:

  1. E20-001 Information Storage and Management exam
  2. E20-097 Backup and Recovery Foundations exam
  3. E20-040 EMC Technology Foundation exam

Since you have a valid E20-097 credential, youarenot be required to take the E20-001 before July 16th.
