What is EMC ProSphere?
Hi,
EMC ProSphere is a cloud storage management software to monitor and analyze storage service levels across a virtual infrastructure. Built to meet the demands of the cloud computing era, ProSphere enables enterprises to enhance performance and improve storage utilization as they adopt technologies and processes for the cloud
Extract from emc270549: ProSphere is an EMC product that can be deployed as a VMware vApp. It bundles a set of virtual machines that run in one or more VMware ESX Server environments. This virtualization allows instances of ProSphere and its components to be quickly added, moved, and removed as necessary. Virtual machines in a ProSphere vApp are connected to each other through an information grid. In the grid, data is federated through a simple but secure mechanism that runs over HTTP using SSL (HTTPS) and standard TCP ports, eliminating the need to create complex firewall policies.
This virtualized approach allows ProSphere to dynamically scale to the requirements of your data center, and multiple instances of ProSphere can cooperate and provide failover using a distributed cache to scale ProSphere to very large environments.
For more information on ProSphere go to http://www.emc.com and Select Products > ProSphere from the menu available.
On powerlink go to Home > Products > Software P-R > ProSphere > Articles and review Announcing EMC ProSphere. This article introduces the new EMC ProSphere cloud storage management offering.
