"The Frequency is out of Range"
I have a Dell XPS 1530 laptop with Windows 7. Whenever I hook it to my new Sony Video Projector, model VPL-CS5 and try to project, I get a message from the projector saying "The Frequency is out of Range". I've checked by Googling various sources and have tried the following:
1. Change the screen resolution to lower resolution with no effect.
2. I've gone to the advanced tabs in the screen resolution tabs to the monitor setting, and have tried to change the screen refresh rate, but all that is offered there is "windows default". I looked at the same location on my desktop and it will allow a change from 75 Hz to 60 hz, but this laptop doesn't offer any changes.
Does anyone have any idea what I need to do so I can use this video projector for presentations? Is there a driver or something that might help?
Thanks

It is not your refresh rate, but your resolution which the projector does not like. Test by lowering your laptop resolution to the native resolution of the projector.
