Surprising call with the Hot line about the Dell M110
Hi
I couldn't use wifi between my Ipad or my laptop with my new dell M110. I had a surprising call with the hot line today. The Dell M110 doesn't support Wifi even if you buy the wifi dongle!! They will call me back, later!!

I just looked in the M110 manual and on page 13 (Connecting a Computer Using Wireless Dongle), it says, Your projector must be installed with the Dell wireless dongle if you want to use the wireless display.".

Hi
That is exactly what i'im trying with the dell dongle I bought
I found this video on Youtube to help me
It's ok to connect the computer to the dell wifi network create by the M110. After the connection, I type the IP 192.168.100.10 in my navigator (proxy disable), but nothings appens.
I didn't have any acces to the dowload page to dl the binary file named Dell_M110.exe (6'06 on youtube video)
Perhaps could you send me directly this binary file ??
Thanks
Franck

I do not see that file on our file library. Look on the CD that shipped with the projector.

it's stored on the M110.
DL it from the "Projectors Homepage" when your PC is connected with the M110 WLAN.
but be warned: Video playback through the wireless dongle is a little bit sluggish.
Although i have this dongle too, i always use hdmi in the meantime.

Please note that the Wireless Dongle is like a hotspot,
- First you have to connect your computer to this hotspot (ssid is "FDP11" or something like this),
- Use the login code showing on the projector screen
- if your computer is connected, please check your IP adress, should be 192.168.100.x
- maybe you want to ping 192.168.100.10 from your computer to ensure the M110 is reachable
- Start Browser and go to 192.168.100.10
If this fails check your Personal/Windows Firewall and try to deactivate it for a short time or let it pass all traffic from/to 192.168.10.x

I already performed all of the steps but i still could not connect to M110 IP address.
my firewall is turned off and i can ping the IP address 10 times with no errors.
and i am using the log in information correctly.

anyone who can provide me the installer file or a link to it, would be my savior for my problem.
thank you in advance. =)

there is a firmware update out since 15. May 2012 maybe this fixes the problem. I have installed it because I want the ceiling mount option, but no luck this option is still missing. :emotion-6:
But before you install the firmware, you have to install some drivers that are downloaded from the projector. maybe there is also this dell installation file all of you want to have.
I have also downloaded a wireless Dell software for the "Dell 4610X Wireless Plus Projector" because this software has the ceiling mout option somewhere in the web interface menu. But it is useless since I did not get the wireless dongle I ordered yesterday, so I can't tell you if this software is also working with the Dell M110. Maybe one of you can test it. Furthermore if one of you have an Idea how to enable the ceiling mount option, please let me know!

I've downloaded the firmware directly form Dell Website. This link is german, but maybe you can just change language...
after you have downloaded the firmware, there is a manual inside. In oder to upgrade you need a A-A USB cable, I build one myself :)
Projector FW: M110_20120329_M0R003.img (need USB cable for update)
"Image Processor FW" : MST7286_MP_20120329_M13.BIN (just copy on Micro sd card)
and Media FW: Dell_8201_A56_20120326.bin (just copy on Micro sd card)
hope this help you!

Firstly, thanks a lot for your reply. Second - it is pleasure for me to get upgrading and updating and study more. Third - my appologies - I'm not so advanced user, and would like to get additional explanations as following (sorry for that!): a) where and how I could reach " firmware update out since 15. May 2012"; b) where and how I could reach some drivers that are downloaded from the projector? I never recognized them, where are they stored? c) may be much more easy (for you? for me?) to get the need "Software" directly from Dell site? what the problem is to do "Download free" accordingly to Tag #, that anyway should be used for each contact to "Dell support site"? How porvide such option? Thanks in advance on your responce. Sincerely.
