Software for 2400MP

Is there any software available so that you can switch between different input sources via a pc rather than the remote ?

I've recently written software to do that.   I can provide it 'as-is' if you'd like.  All I can say is that it works for me.  :smileyhappy:

Would you be willing to provide me with the same software?

I'd be happy to make the software available to anyone.  Just email me at richard_davis42@hotmail.com.   Too bad I can't get the freeze function to work since nobody at Dell will tell me how to make it work!!

I've uploaded a copy of my software to: http://www.geocities.com/richarddavis42@sbcglobal.net/remote.zip .   Please let me know if you like it, hate it, or have suggestions for improvement.   I've only tested it with the 2400MP, however it would work with any projector with the same command structure.   The software is currently hardcoded to COM1.  Let me know if this presents a problem for anyone.

For some reson the link above doesn't seem to work, but it's defintely correct.  It works fine if I type it in by hand.   Try this one, or just type it into the address bar of your browser by hand:

Richard, I tried your software for our 2400MP. Thanks for posting it.  Is there any way you could add the ability to give the projector the factory reset command? I can't find any utility to do this, and whenever I get the Orange Bulb Error the screen won't come on. When that happens I either have to reset projector several times until it decides to work, or I have to change the lamp, and then do a factory reset. I have to do this even though the Lamp removed is actually fine, and will work fine after the Factory reset. So if I could do a Factory reset via serial communication...that would help greatly.

Here's the new location for the Dell 2400MP projector software.

Please note this is hard-coded to COM1 and I don't have the enivronment to recompile it any more or to make changes.   I had thought I would rewrite it in Java at some point, but never found time.
For the cable, I took an old mouse cable and chopped the end off and wired it per the diagram on this page:

Good luck!
Richard
