Runtime Error

I have read a question about runtime error in the forum, but it didn't apply to my problem. I tried to play a DVD that I play almost every day, and suddenly ran into the error message, "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact Applications Support for more information." TWho is application support? The odd thing is that the day before I was able to play the DVD without any trouble. I did nothing to change any settings on my computer in the interim, but the next time I tried to play the DVD I received the error message, and I was unable to close the program because my computer locked up so that I couldn't even shut it down. I had to turn it off. I would appreciate any help you have to offer. Since I am 74 years old, I am rather inept with computer technology, as you can probably tell. Thanks,

This sounds like a software problem on the computer, not necessarily the fault of a projector. If this error happens to one DVD, it will probably happen to all DVDs you play. Does the same error still show up after you restart the computer?

Yes, Jingyenshiau, I get the Runtime Error message with all DVDs. CD's seem to play well. I just found it odd that one day the program worked and the next it didn't. I've tried restoring the computer to another date and also restarting and turning the computer off. So far nothing has changed. Thank you very much for your help.

The first fix I would suggest is to uninstall the DVD playing software (something like WinDVD, I'd imagine) and reinstall it. I don't trust restoring the computer... The explanation goes on and on, so I'll skip it here. :)
