RS232 Connection to wake up Projector - HELP -

My Boss wants me to configure a Dell laptop and Dell 2400MP projector to wake up and start doing an advertising slide show each night.

I am using a USB to DB9 converter and then a Dell DB9 > PS2 type connector to talk to the Projector.

Found the Protocol assignment and the commands, but can't get it to work.

Using Hyperterm with it configured for the comm port using 19200 baud, 8 Data and no Parity

and entering in the command -

0xBE, 0xEF, 0x10, 0x05, 0x00, 0XC6, 0xff, 0x11, 0x11, 0x01, 0x00, 0x01

The cursor then goes back to the front of the line and seems to wait for a response from the projector. 

I am hitting my head against a brick wall as I cant get it to work and my boss is addiment that I will get it to work.....  Any jobs going in the Antarctic? . . . . Help Someone Please . . . . .
