Premature Power-Off Issue with 4610X Networked Projector
All,
I assisted my wife's real estate office in purchasing the 4610X back in July, 2010 thinking that the price was right, and we needed the networking feature due to it's ceiling mount (12 ft).
All was good with it for a short period of time, but soon it started turning itself off for no apparent reason, and had to be turned back on to continue the presentation.
For clarity's sake - the projector is mounted correctly, using the Dell ceiling mount kit. My wife's office only uses the projector for about 1.5 to 2 hours every other Tuesday for the office meeting, never any other time. The networking features and the quality of the picture always seem fine, so no complaints there.
After a while, I was asked about getting a replacement due to the frustration... essentially, the equipment was really unusable. So, in August of 2011, I requested a swap, which Dell did do, minus the lamp. (I'm OK with that... it hadn't gotten a lot of use anyway, and seemed to work fine).
After the swap, I've come to find out that the NEW (Refurb) projector is having the SAME problem as the last projector... and my wife just informed me that it seems that it will shut itself off after EXACTLY 10 minutes. Yes, you can turn it back on, and wait for it to boot back up, but after 10 minutes again, OFF!
So, rather than try my hand and my patience with India tech support, I'm asking the members of this forum as well as any Dell moderators if they can share some insight on what may be happening...
One last thing... I used to work for Dell from 1999 to 2003, and I really love and appreciate the company, but this experience is rather disappointing... and yes, I know if "it's turned on and plugged in", so I'd rather avoid the scripted questions and get down to the heart of the matter.
Thank you in advance for your help and guidance!
Tony

I just started to have the exact same problem with one of my projectors. It would run for a short time, then power off. I saw no response from anyone on this, so I thought I'd add mine into it.
