playing dvd through laptop to projector

I have a latitude laptop connected to a projector and when I play a dvd it won't

show on the screen. The only thing that shows on the screen is my desktop.

Can anyone help me figure this out? I'm assuming there is a setting that needs

changed but I've tried diff things and still can't get it to work.
