Picture jumps Dell 2200

I have been using a 2200MP for about two years with no problems and now it has started to jump. The picture will drop down and show a set of bars across the top of the screen for a mount and then go back to normal. the bulb has about 500 hours on it and the unit has been mounted upside down on the ceiling. I has always been allowed to cool down and shut off correctly and never mistreated. "Dell is such great help" there seems to be no need to ask them. Any ideas? Thanks

Did you recently change computers or any settings?

I would suspect it's getting a signal that is slightly out of range. I had a somewhat similiar issue (flashes) when I was sending a signal to it that was out of range.

On a Windows XP machine, Rightclick on the desktop, Properties, settings.

Select the secondary monitor

Click 'Advanced' button at bottom right.

On this popup, click on the 'Monitor' Tab.

Here you can adjust the Screen Refresh Rate. Consult your projector's manual for a recommended frequency for a given resoultion.

Good Luck!
