M209X Remote Issues

We purchased a Dell M209X projector for presentations.  Recently, we noticed an issue with the remote functionality.  It appears as though the remote must be situated in the area in front of the projector in order for the remote to advance slides.  I know the IR receiver is located in the front of the projector, but does this mean the remote is not functional when used from behind the projector?  We will need to use the remote from differnent locations in the room in respect to the projector.  Not every room we use for presentations is situated the same way.  If anyone has any experience with this issue, your advice, suggestions, info would be greatly appreciated.

No not at all you can even use the remote from any where to advance or go one slide behind , and all you got to do is connect a usb cable from the projector to the laptop or the desktop pc which ever you are using and once you have the usb cable connected between the projector and pc you got to use the up and down arrow keys to move the slides up and down ( Remember there are 2 up and down arrows on the remote , i believe one next to Mute at the bottom and one at the top ) only one of them will work effectively

thanks

Thanks for the response.  We are using a USB cable to connect the projector to the laptop.  The remote is still not working from many places in the room.  It seems as though we have to point the remote directly at the projector in order for the buttons to work.  There must be a clear line of reference between the remote and the projector.  At first we thought we had a defective remote, so we sent it back and got another; however, the second one is doing the exact same thing.
