Looking for something durable and dependable ...

Can someone recommend a business oriented projector?
Please suggest any brand (!!!) /model based on your personal experience or reliable information.

Thanks in advance!

Business-oriented to carry on the road, I presume? You have to look elsewhere. Dell projectors are inexpensive but usuallly project the image too high. There is nothing that can't be fixed by propping the rear of the projector up using a book of sticky notes, but apparently travelling business people consider it unprofessional -- they simply mean it lacks style.

Thanks for your reply JINGYENSHIAU.

To be honest, I am totally indifferent to the 'style'. Additionally, if getting a good reliable machine means an extra pound or two, so be it.

Perhaps I should list the qualities in priority order:

- Reliability
- Portability
- Price (less than $1300)

Thanks again.

My Dell 3200MP projector has been in its third year running with 1300+ hours on its original light bulb. Unlike most of what you hear on this forum, my projector works very well with no maintenance beside infrequent dusting. There is nothing I can complain about my projector, not to mention that it was the only XGA projector under $1300 when I purchased it -- SVGA projectors were easily found in the sub-$1000 range, but the XGA resolution was my priority.

Though I wouldn't have changed my projector choice if I could, Toshiba projectors do seem to have a smoother touch in its operation. You should take a trip to Circuit City and try out some of the projectors before deciding what to buy.

Good point about museums (Circuit City, Best Buy, etc.) I'll try that.

Thanks for your help!
