flickering display on a projector Dell 2300MP

Question

Our Dell 2300 MP projector lamp exploded inside of the projector last Friday, I have replaced a new lamp, and now the projector is flickering. every a few minutes. it will go away, then start again in a few minute. is there anything I can do to fix it?

Hey I have the same projector and am having the same problem.  My lamp died the day before Super Bowl Sunday and I got a new one sent a few days later.  It had been working fine until Thursday of this week.  Now every so often it will start flickering and the image will start producing some serious color banding, almost looking like the image is getting posterized or like it's dropping from millions of colors down to like 256.  Colors will start getting mixed up as well; I've noticed my blues turn into reds.  It will eventually go away for awhile but then start back up again a little later.  It's been getting worse and worse each day.  The problem is less noticeable when I am watching a DVD compared to normal TV which at first led me to believe that something was wrong with my cable box.  But while watching a movie today the image started to flicker and I immediately went over to TV mode to see the image looking horrible.   Is this a lamp problem or is something happening with the projector?  The lamp only has a little over 400 hours on it.   Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Yea Dell never respond to this issue. However after I left the projector on for 10 hours a day for about a week, the problem gone away. so good luck.   Joe

My new projector was shaking or flickering every few seconds. The manual was not very helpful because it just says to adjust the tracking or frequency in the OSD source - which is in the projector menu. I have a Dell 3400MP and all I needed to do was changed my refresh rate on my computer from 60hz to 75hz and no more flicker.

Simple, but took me hours to figure this out.

Hope this helps, otherwise try to adjust it or clean the dust off the lamp.
