every other video plays

I have a Sony Laptop connected to a Dell 1200MP projector. I am playing video in Windows Media Player 10.0. I am seeing all videos, sound ect. on the laptop screen but on the projector screen I see the windows media player tray. When I start a video the video area is black but when the next video starts, (auotmatically) it shows up on the projector screen. Its like every other video show on the screen. I have connected other laptops and desktops with the same videos and all is well.
