Dell MP2200 NOISY Color Wheel

Hello,

I'm an audio visual technician with over ten years experience and I'm having problems with my Dell MP2200. The color wheel has gotten so noisy that I fear my ears are being damaged. I mean, it's really loud. It's definitely not the regular fans, they sound fine.. it's that color wheel for the DLP.

It sounds like it just needs a little grease, but before I take it apart again to try and grease up that wheel, I thought I'd ask the experts at Dell what they would recommend?

Personally, the projector has been really wonderful, for almost 5 years now. I've only replaced the lamp once. I should have spent a little more for better resolution model. Other major quirks are, NO FILTER?! I've been doing AV for over ten years and I've NEVER seen a projector without a filter. I didn't even think to ask about it when I purchased the Dell, but I live in Arizona, where it's really dusty and our projector really needs that filter.

At any rate, my Dell MP2200 is really hazardous to my ears at this point and I would really like to address this issue asap.

Thanks,

-Dave
