DEll 5100MP Telnet //////////// Tearing

I did a port scan on my projector and saw ports 23 and 80.  Obviously port 80 is for the web interface.  But 23 is the common telnet port.  When I telnet to that port it connects me but then nothing.. Are there any white papers detailing what use this open port has.. 

 

I am hoping it is a tcp/ip equivalent of the rs232 port.  Since running an ethernet cable is alot easier then trying to work with the minidin rs232 port on the back of the projector.

 

Also still would like to hear about a solution for the native resolution digtial tearing I and every other user are experiencing with this projector.
