Dell 4100MP Flickering/Crashes after 10minutes
I have about 850 hours of use on the lamp, which has always been used on Eco-Mode. As of the past week, it has been flickering with all sources and then ultimate shuts down with the lamp failure light on. I have tried resetting the menu settings to factory default, taking out the lamp and using compressed air to blow dust out of it, putting a fan infront of the projector to give some extra air flow. Nothing seems to be working, or making the projector last a little longer than 10 or so minutes.
It is out of warranty, and I'm curious what my options are. It seems like the projector/lamp works just fine up until it starts flickering, so I assume the lamp is still in working condition. When the projector auto-shuts down, I can feel it is very hot and just assumed it was a heat issue for crashing down... yet the temp light isnt what comes on, rather the lamp. Also, the fan behind the front grill is visibly working when the projector is going.
Please give me some advice! Any way to open the whole projector up so I can do a complete dust clean-up rather than just through the lamp hole. I just got a roommate and now all bummed we have no TV or anything to watch movies on. Does Dell have a replacement plan even though its out of warranty? I would appreciate any help.
Thanks - Sean

I have the same issue. Have you solved this?
