Harsono,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

You can only change the settings in the management section when a new Lamp is installed.

Lamp Hour - The Lamp may fail soon! Replacement suggested! message appears on the screen 30 hours before the end of lamp life. Use this function to show or hide the message.
Lamp reset - Use this function only after a new lamp is installed in the projector. Select Yes and press the Enter button to accept the new lamp.

I am experiencing this exact same problem, however I did just purchase and install a brand new bulb, and I still am showing exactly what Harsono described:

on the Menu > Management > LAMP HOUR  is disabled. I can't enable it.

the LAMP USAGE count down is always 0 with grey blur color (not active).

on the Menu > Management > LAMP RESET is always NO. I can't select the YES.

Please help me.  I need to be able to reset the lamp hours, because the projector keeps shutting down on me.

Dell,

I'm having the same two symptoms with my Dell 3200MP Projector. The message described above "The Lamp may fail soon! Replacement suggested!" has never displayed.

Since I'm unable to manage either of the 'Management' settings related to the lamp (both menu items are disabled), does that indicate none of my bulbs are truly new?

Is the shaking / flickering image a symptom of a failing lamp?

If the lamp was truly failing, why does the projector continue to turn back on again (it's been doing this off-&-on for nearly two years now).

Thanks,

Puckmark,

Did you ever receive any HELPFUL help regarding this issue? I like our Dell 3200MP but am having the exact same problem. Thanks.

No - nobody ever responded at all.

only thing I can think of is that maybe the one response sums it all up: the lamp counter works only on brand-new bulbs. If when I received my new bulb I tested it for 30 seconds, maybe it activates something in the bulb that designates it as "used." Then I took it back out and replaced the existing bulb....

But I have yet to see if the new bulb does the flicker / shut-off routine like the old one. You say your new bulb continued having the same problems--flickering and shutting off? Was it always a consistent problem, or was it intermittent? What did you do? Did you get rid of the projector?
