Dell 3200mp replaced lamp, still not lighting up

Recently, the bulb on our Dell 3200mp burned out.  We bought a new replacement for it but it still does not work.  When we turn it on, the unit tries 3 times to light the lamp, we hear a click each time but the lamp does not light.  The orange lamp light comes on at first then eventually we see the temp light come on.  We do not get the white dell screen or anything.  This is a new bulb.  We openned the unit and did not see any dust in it.  Does anyone have a suggestion for us?

You might want to return the bulb you purchased and try another new one. I know from personal experience that new doesn't always mean good. I once went through 3 motorcycle coils from the same lot before I found one that was functional.

Jimmy ..... thats just brilliant.... great advice    why dont you have her check that the plugs prong isnt scratched...... or maybe have her drop it on the ground for good measure.   I tell you, is it any wonder why people are disgusted with dells service when this forums top dog equates a customers broken projector to his inept motorcycle repair work. Dell spend some money and man these forums with some expertise that can actually solve your customer problems. Oh and Jimmy, aisle 5 needs some cleanup or the frys are up.

Thanks for the kind words and the trouble shooting advise you provided. With your firm grasp of trouble shooting and expertise in projector repair perhaps you can be of help to others.
