Dell 2300MP Projector burned power supply
Hello, I search for a power supply module to replace a burned one in a 2300MP projector due to the lightning.
I believe it's not possible for Dell to replace it.
I think all the other parts are in a good shape. Maybe somebody has a broken projector in the optical part or something like that where I could pick the power supply module up.
Thanks a lot in advance

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
I do not find a part number for a replacement power module.

I have a 2300MP that just stopped working - one day fine, the next nothing. I do not know if it is the power supply or what the cause is. Is that the same symptom you encountered?
Thanks,

Hi John,
No, because my problem was due to a lightning. But, if your projector starts with the red LED but without starting the lamp, and says "change the lamp", I know you could try to reset your projector with the factory settings. I don't remember exactly how to do that. You maybe try to connect it with a serial terminal via the RS-232 port.
Good luck

Thank you Jean-Seb. I do not receive the change lamp warning - no LED at all. We have had a period of lightning storms a couple of weeks ago, just before this projector went out. However, no other damage in the house.
At this point - the projector does not light up at all. Completely dead.

Hi John,
OK, I see you don't get any power at all. If you take apart your projector, there is a fuse soldered on the power supply circuit card assy. You could first check if it is burned ...

Hi Jean-Seb,
I have read that there is a power fuse soldered to the power supply circuit: have you been able to check it?
If yes, could you be kind enough to explain were it is located?
My 2300MP stopped working yesterday, no power at all...
Thanks!

I found this quote while looking for a power supply for the 2300mp projector. I need the power supply portion. I have taken this part out and the board is burned. I can't beleive there is no supply for this item. Is there a part number for it or some type of parts source? There are numerous copanies out there fixing them....Thanks

My 2300MP is dead too. No warning. No lights whatsoever.
Spent a very frustrating 90 minutes on hold waiting for Dell tech support and NO ONE EVER PICKED UP.
VERY DISAPPOINTED to read online that Dell will not service the units.
Sure won't buy Dell again.

on mine it says the power supply was built by quasar power and model number is qp-4275
a look on the web for that part # shows it might also be used on ACER projectors, model LV PD525 (?)
it's an elusive part for sure. some used parts sites say they have them in stock, only to confirm by phone that in reality they don't....
the alternative is to contact Dell's after warranty subcontractor.
yesterday they wanted $320USD for diagnostics and shipping, parts are extra.
